The 13th of January at 9 p.m. the fun began. Mary started having contractions. We spent the first two hours of early labor wondering whether or not it was real, we didn't know. We finally pulled out a couple pregnancy books and went over the signs of labor, she checked off each one. Labor went through the night and into the morning with one trip home to rest and then not able to rest we returned to the hospital.

At 5:16 p.m. Odin came into the world screaming apparently he was just so excited to be out. He weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and 181/2 inches long and until I saw and held him those numbers meant absolutely nothing to me. We stayed at the hospital until Sunday, came home and tried to rest.

Odin interrupted our rest with the hourly bowel movement and plea for milk. Luckily the following nights were more restful. He usually sleeps 4-6 hours a night. Most days for him are spent trying to eat and eventually succeeding, pooping, sleeping and then repeating the cycle. We're enjoying every bit of it!
